Indonesian anti-terror squad Detachment 88 tortured peaceful Moluccan FKM/RMS independence activists.

    Yonias Siahaya:
''I am a human being, not an animal.''Admitted to hospital after vicious five-hour beating that left his left side immobilised due to fractured hip. Pierced with nails while placed in stress position. Only after four days of coughing blood and vomiting from pain was he given medical care.

On August 3, 2010 at three o’clock in the morning, peaceful activist Yonias Siahaya (Oni) was arrested at his home. Yonias Siahaya  is partly paralyzed as a result of torture by members of the Indonesian anti-terror squad Detachment 88. On August 5 he was taken to the Police Hospital in Tantui. Because his condition worsened, he was in reference to the General Hospital, Lung room in Ambon from August 10, until now.To cover up the criminal practices (torture) of the members of Detachment 88 towards Yonias Siahaya, they notify the family that Yonias is suffering from lung disease. From childhood until now he never got lung disease. Although many FKM/RMS activists were tortured, the Indonesian police, through a press release, rejected the allegations !!!

Health of Mr Yonias Siahaya (Oni) has deteriorated Last night ( August 26) around 7 o'clock (local Ambon time) Mr Yonias Siahaya (Oni) was moved from Lung room to Lung Neorologi department of the General Hospital in Ambon. His health and physical condition has deteriorated significantly. While he is now waiting for a neurological examination, he suffers a lot of pain in his waist and his chest and his body on the left side is paralyzed. At this moment Mr. Siahaya experiences symptoms of stroke. His wife went yesterday to the island of Buru to find money for his medical expenses and treatment, because there are no medical expenses from Detachment 88, and the family cost is for the account of the family.
