THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CRISIS ON SMALL ISLANDS STATES
Small Island States are bearing the brunt of the climate crisis. Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the atmosphere warms the planet, and the adverse effects of the global climate crisis are already visible. Is the quantity of carbon dioxide emissions to blame to the industrialized countries? According to former NASA scientist James Hansen, industrialization in Europe, North America, Australia, and Japan was responsible for 77 percent of global emissions between 1751-2006.
