One day after the Executive Chairman of the Moluccan Sovereignty Front (FKM), Dr.Alex H. Manuputty was detained at the police headquarter, thousands of Moluccans held a peaceful demonstration to demand the release of their beloved leader.
Most Moluccans felt that this action was taken due to the absence of justice in the Moluccas. Moluccans now became more aware and critical and want to know why the people that were involved in terrorist activities such as the bombing and burning that occurred on April 3, 2002, were not arrested even though the police were successful in identifying the culprits. Is the ability of the authorities limited only to identifying terrorist without subjecting them to justice?
Why was this incident not settled despite the fact that it killed several people and cause much grief among the victims’ family? What ever happen with the other bomb incidents? It’s kind of ironic that a Moluccan leader that are striving for Truth and Justice for the sake of the ordinary people was actually detained at the time when He is planning a flag-raising activity to commemorate the independence anniversary of the Republic of South Moluccas; A Republic that was illegally annexed by the Indonesian occupiers. This was part of the aspiration that was eloquently expressed by the people holding the demonstration.
At the outset Dr Alex H.Manuputty always teach his people as well as FKM members that they must learn how to express their democratic rights as well as demand justice in a peaceful way and categorically reject violent methods in expressing these rights.
FKM is a representative of people that are aware and critical. FKM is neither a group of vigilantes equipped with automatic weapons such as the laskar Jihad nor a group of terrorist as depicted by the evil Indonesian government. It appears that the authorities are paranoid with the FKM activities.
Why are they so afraid? Dr.Alex neither have a communicable disease nor is he the one that plunder all the money from the Bulog Corporation so was the outcry of the demonstrators. This what triggers the felling of injustice among the Moluccan people and prompt them to hold a peaceful demonstration to support this "Cause" championed by Dr.Alex Manuputty.
However this peaceful action was marred by the infiltration of two members of TNI (Indonesian military) carrying guns and grenades with a sole objective to throw the grenades and explode it among the people holding the peaceful demonstration.
However God has a different plan. Fortunately the people were able to out-muscled the two terrorists and have the police settle the case. Unfortunately, after negotiation between the police and the Chief military command of Maluku the two military men were released.
Again this is just one of the many examples of “State Sponsored Terrorism” that occurred in the Moluccas. And since the Indonesian government was the party that harbored, sponsored, facilitate, tolerate, and financed these terrorists activities they are immune from the rule of law. Hence, they are subject to impunity just like most military dictatorship in this world. This injustice is part of an evil political conspiracy carry out by the TNI/POLRY(Military/police)
to annihilate the Moluccan people and plunder the richness of the Moluccas that is known of their rich natural resources.
Up to this moment we are still waiting for a conformation regarding the identity of this two military personnel. This people are indeed people that are better known as provokers. The truth is that Indonesia that calls it self a country based on the rule of law was not able to exercise its authority on these two military personnel.
Why is that so?
This evil conspiracy to carry out their “ Final Solution “ to fossilize our people can further be seen by the horrific and disgusting tactics employed by the Coordinating Minister of Political, Social and Security Affairs, Bambang Yudhoyono when he stated the following propaganda :
“ After evaluation by the civil emergency we found out that during the last three years Only 18 churches were burned, while their were 1308 mosques burned. “
However data gathered by ICCF and reported on December 7, 2001, showed churches that was burned during the Soekarno era (8/45-3/67): 2 churches; during the Suharto era (3/67-5/98): 456 churches; during the Habibie (5/98- 10/99): 156 churches; during Wahid’s presidency (10/99-7/2001): 232 churches; and during Megawati’s time (7/2001-12/2001): 16 churches for a total of 862 churches. This data of course did not include as to what happen between 7/2001- the present.
So it conspicuous that Yudoyono’s data is bogus. If indeed there were mosques that were burned without a doubt it was done by the TNI in order to pit Muslims against Christians (an example of the politics of divide and conquer). The struggle in the Moluccas is a struggle for Liberation from the evil Indonesian Empire.
On top of his distasteful propaganda Yudoyono on behalf of the Indonesian government as quoted by the morning edition of Ambon Express on Monday April 8, 2002 page 12 under the topic “ TNI was not Involved” carry out his threats by stating the following:
Fear for violations of Human Rights and Democracy and the feeling of being afraid because one might be accused of being brutal and repressive should not prevent (TNI/POLRY) from taking stern actions. This is what I stated before; the motivation and the triggering point of law enforcement in the Moluccas should be manifested in stern actions. Do not hesitate or be afraid when you (TNI/POLRY) are accused of violating Human Rights laws.
Maybe our brothers (imagine he called people opposed to him as brothers) living outside Maluku, the ones that had never witness anything; bloodshed and misery will be pouring on the coming April 25th.
These statements were made publicly in a press conference at the governor’s office. This statement proved that Yudhoyono is planning a mass violation of human rights in Maluku by shooting at civilians.
Civilians that had the right to celebrate the 52nd anniversary to commemorate the Independence and Sovereign Republic of South Moluccas (RMS). This arrogance as shown in an act of disregard for human rights laws and a blatant plan to violate it must be responded with stern consequences by the authorized International institutions such as the United Nations as well as the United States of America.
Again we appeal to the leaders of the printed and electronic media, National and International Human Rights organizations, the International community, leaders of friendly and democratic countries to investigate and take diplomatic steps to pressure the Indonesian government to enforce the Rule of Law, Democracy and to respect Human Rights in dealing with the people.
